Blind dogs recover their sight

A team of french scientists gives 7 dogs a second chance.

The 7 dogs were affected with the Leber congenital amaurosis's disease, which is a disease affecting millions of people around the world starting at an early age and causing the lost of their sight. 8 genes that may be responsible for the disease are known by scientists.

The team of scientists, based in Nantes at Hotel-Dieu hospital, used a revolutionary genetic therapy for 18 month now and recovered the sight of 7 out of 8 dogs submitted to this therapy.
